What is Green Juicing?
Green
juicing, also known as vegetable juicing, combines a variety of leafy greens
and other vegetables which is then processed through a juicer, instead of a
blender.
In the
fast-paced world today, time is the most precious commodity for most people,
especially working professionals. In order to save time, they turn to processed
foods, which include frozen meals and canned foods. They are convenient and
easy to prepare.
However,
eating too much processed foods could prove to be harmful for our bodies. They
contain substantial amounts of trans-fats, i.e. unhealthy fats, and sugar.
Prolonged intake of such foods causes people to fall sick easily. Coupled with
stress in this society, it’s no wonder diseases are more common and rampant
among us today!
Health is
wealth. As more people are becoming conscious of their health and total
wellness, many have incorporated green juicing as part of their diets. It is
easy to prepare and saves time. And what’s more, the benefits of green juicing are
tremendous.
Benefits of Green Juicing
1. Nutrients
Eating greens are good for our health
and total well-being. Our bodies need to take in a certain amount of nutrients
for optimal functionality.
Health authorities’ recommendation is
to consume eight servings of greens per day. Very few people actually achieve
that as it means eating lots of veggies everyday, which is a difficult task to
accomplish. There is a limit to how much food we can consume in each meal, too.
Furthermore, eating too much vegetables can, in turn, cause unnecessary stress
to our bodies and cause our digestive organs to be overworked.
